Mónica Cucalón
Mónica serves as Vice President of Economic Empowerment at the Latin American Association, where she leads initiatives that advance economic self-sufficiency for Latino communities across Georgia. With more than 25 years of experience in business, marketing, and strategy across the United States and Latin America, she brings a strong private-sector background to her mission-driven work.
She oversees key departments including Latina Empowerment, Workforce Development, Adult Education, and Youth Programs, and directs major initiatives such as the Annual Latina Conference, Career Expo, and Youth Conference, each serving more than 600 participants. She also develops and manages grants that sustain and expand these programs.
Before joining the nonprofit sector, Mónica was Marketing Manager at MundoHispánico, where her leadership in research, partnerships, and content strategy elevated the publication’s market presence. Earlier in her career, she built a reputation in Colombia as a marketing leader at Unilever and Best Foods International, managing product portfolios generating over $50 million in annual sales.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s in marketing from the Technological Institute of Monterrey, along with a fellowship in Economic Development. She is recognized for combining strategic insight, branding expertise, and a deep commitment to community impact.
Mónica lives in metro Atlanta with her husband.
