We are Atlanta’s largest provider of Spanish-language instruction for over 20 years. Our Spanish-language program uses a communicative approach to language learning in order to help students of all levels achieve fluency. We focus on creating an environment that encourages students to feel comfortable making mistakes so that they can learn and interact with their classmates to become fluent. All of our teachers are native Spanish speakers or have native speaker proficiency.
At the Latin American Association, we teach standard Spanish that is considered the correct form of the language. However, we do teach students regional differences in vocabulary and pronunciation. There are many factors that influence how long it will take someone to learn a language, including motivation, experience learning a foreign language and time. It takes approximately 2 years for students to move to the Advanced Level, although you should be able to communicate in Spanish on a limited basis in a short period of time. Learning a language is a long process and it may last a lifetime.
We use as much Spanish as possible in the class, but it is not a total immersion program. Logically, the use of Spanish by the teacher increases with each level.

In-person & Online Group Classes
Our in-person classes may range from 4 to 10 students. Please see below for the current class schedule. Unfortunately, we cannot offer individual make-up classes and do not provide childcare.
As part of our program, our students enjoy a special feature called intercambio, or exchange, where they periodically get to interact and converse with native speakers enrolled in our English-language classes.

Refund Policy
No refunds will be given after the first week of class. If a refund is requested during the first week of class, a $20 service fee will be applied and the refund will be prorated depending on the number of classes taken. Refunds will be sent via mail in the form of a check.

Private Spanish Classes
Our Private Spanish classes offer high-quality, tailored instruction. Classes are taught by professional, native-speaking instructors and can be one-one-one or in group of two or three students in order to meet the student’s specific needs.
In addition to language education, we teach meaningful cultural content that enriches student’s experience with the culture and with the people of Latin America.
Note: Children are not allowed in the classrooms and LAA doesn’t provide childcare services.
