Rafael Huerta

Rafael Huerta was born in Juarez, Mexico.

He went to college in Guadalajara and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education in 1987. He worked in Mexico as an Elementary School Teacher for 7 years.

In 1994, he and his family moved to Dalton, GA. His first job in this country was at Mohawk Industries where he worked 3 years.

In 1997, Rafael started working at Roan School Elementary with the Dalton Public School System. His role as a Spanish teacher made a huge impact in many students’ lives.

In 2000, he joined the Boy Scouts of America as a Scoutreach District Executive, serving the Hispanic community in seven counties in NWGA.

In 2006, he began working as a Community Relations Specialist at Kool Smiles of Dalton.

In 2013, Mr. Huerta went back to serve the Scouting community as the Conasauga District Executive serving the counties of Whitfield and Murray.

In 2018, he joined the Salvation Army as a Manager. After 3 years, Rafael went to work for Providence Ministries, Inc. and joined the management team.

In October of 2021, Mr. Huerta started working for the Latin American Association as an Outreach Manager serving the Latino population in Dalton-NWGA.

In 2022, the LAA promoted him to his current position of LAA Managing Director serving our Northwest Georgia communities.
