We believe that economic stability and well-being are within reach for all. And we work together to break down barriers and build pathways to economic success, self-sufficiency, and empowerment through equitable access to opportunities. At LAA, we help Latinos thrive through a focus on three core pillars of service:

• Family Well-being and Stabilization Programs which addresses essential needs, including housing, food, healthcare, and education, supporting Latino families on their journey to self-sufficiency.
• Workforce Development Programs empower Latinos toward self-sufficiency through education, skill-building, and career development. By closing skills gaps and creating pathways to employment, we help individuals secure jobs and advance in professional careers.
• Entrepreneurial and Empowerment Support for Latina Women provides specialized programs — including access to capital and an ecosystem of support, education, and community connections that empower Latina entrepreneurs to thrive.

Over the last decade, Latina income has grown 46%, helping to drive economic growth in the U.S. Lesbia Gonzalez, an Avanzando Juntas Graduate & Business Accelerator Member, is a local community member whose experience vividly illustrates the value in providing these programs and services.

When Lesbia and her family immigrated to the United States, the challenges they faced in seeking employment and establishing roots were addressed by programs offered by the Latin American Association.

“Coming here and realizing you don’t even own the glass you’re drinking water from is the hardest thing. For me, the Latin American Association was the light in the tunnel at that time.”
