The Latin American Association has issued the following statement:
During this time of national leadership transition, the LAA pledges its continued support to Latinos through its direct service programs, outreach, and advocacy. For 43 years, the LAA has been empowering Latino families to adapt, integrate, and thrive.
Since our founding, we have seen multiple demographic and political shifts; yet, the Georgia Latino community has repeatedly demonstrated its value to the entire state through its hard work, cultural richness, and dedication to family.
While times may be challenging, we must stay true to ourselves. We are fathers, mothers, and students. We work; we study; we contribute. Now and always, the LAA remains dedicated to collaboration and inclusiveness for all people, regardless of race, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
We will continue to engage with decision makers and to show the world our value, and most importantly, who we are as a nation.
