LAA Holiday Toy Drive Brings Happiness, Gifts to Hundreds of Latino Children

The Latin American Association has kicked off its annual toy drive, Spirit of Giving, to benefit 500 children whose families have received assistance from the Family Services and Immigration Services departments this year. The families selected have the greatest need.

The LAA is collecting new, unwrapped toys for boys and girls, ages 0-13, or gift cards from Target or Walmart.

Toys or gift cards may be dropped off from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at our Buford Highway location, at 2750 Buford Highway, N.E., Atlanta, GA 30324. All gifts must be received by Friday, December 9. The children will receive the gifts on December 15 and 16 at two Christmas parties for the families that were selected to benefit from Spirit of Giving this year.

“We have a beautiful tradition of giving gifts to the children of our neediest families for Christmas,” says Cynthia Román, managing director for Family Services. “The need is great. For many of our kids, these are the only gifts they will receive during the holidays.”
