Wednesday, October 14, 2020 | Latino Prosperity and Policy Conference
Sonesta Gwinnett Place Atlanta
The Latin American Association and the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce are presenting the state’s first-ever Latino Prosperity and Policy Conference in 2020. This marks the first time that these two major Latino-serving organizations collaborate at this level.
Georgia’s Hispanic population has surpassed 1 million, and the state relies more and more on this critical demographic to keep its competitive edge. This conference highlights the increasingly important role that Hispanic workers and entrepreneurs play in Georgia’s economic success story. With the Latino population expected to continue growing over the next few decades, it’s imperative that the public and private sectors leverage the strengths of this vital workforce.
The conference will bring together policymakers, business owners, education experts, nonprofit leaders and other stakeholders to discuss win-win solutions for closing the gap between the labor supply and demand, while creating wealth and prosperity for a population that continues to lag its peers in key socioeconomic indicators.
Established in 1984, the GHCC’s primary focus is on business formation, business growth, and civic and leadership development and engagement. It serves entrepreneurs and business owners through consultations, workshops and seminars and partners with organizations such as the Small Business Development Center to bring quality programming to the Hispanic business community. With over 1,000 members, the GHCC is one of the largest Hispanic Chambers in the United States.
