Primera conferencia regional de liderazgo para jóvenes latinos del noroeste de Georgia

La Asociación Latinoamericana presenta la primera conferencia regional de liderazgo para jóvenes latinos del noroeste de Georgia. La LAA expande este evento a las comunidades locales para abordar las necesidades de la comunidad e inspirar a los estudiantes a seguir una educación superior y perseguir sus sueños. Nuestro primer LYLC regional se llevará a cabo en Dalton, ya que vimos el deseo de los estudiantes locales de encontrar la motivación para perseguir sus sueños educativos. También vimos la oportunidad de colaborar con Dalton State College, la primera y única institución de servicio hispano en Georgia.

Queremos continuar con la misión de la conferencia de alentar y motivar a los estudiantes brindándoles un evento lleno de energía, inspiración, oradores motivadores y pasos de acción que todos los participantes pueden tomar para continuar su educación. Este año, la primera conferencia regional de liderazgo para jóvenes latinos del noroeste de Georgia se llevará a cabo virtualmente el 25 de MARZO DE 10 AM A 12 PM.

10:10 a.m. – 10:50 a.m. – Motivational Speaker: Mateo Raul Magdaleno 

10:50 a.m. – 11:10 a.m. – Lunch 

11:10 a.m. – 11:40 a.m. – Main Workshop

11:40 a.m. -11:45 a.m. – Teacher and volunteer recognition 

11:45 a.m. – 11:55 a.m. – Closing Speaker

Mateo Raul Magdaleno is an author and Chief Education Officer for the IDQ Group Inc., providing innovative education strategies to corporations, non-profit, government agencies, universities and school districts who are
committed to reducing the drop out rate and increasing college enrollment among underserved students.

Magdaleno is also the Founder and Chairman of The Magdaleno Leadership Institute, a non-profit organization devoted to building high school student servant leaders. Most recently, Magdaleno was appointed by the U.S. Senate Majority Leader and confirmed by Congress, to serve a four-year term on the U.S. Congressional Award National Board of Directors, who present Congress’s highest award for youth. He also serves on the Texas Advisory Council for the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and serves on the National Advisory Board of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute.

In addition, to managing his own business and philanthropic work, Magdaleno serves as the caregiver of his elderly mother, Maria and in the process of  dopting his older sister, Sylvia Magdaleno, who is gifted with down syndrome.

Furthermore, Magdaleno is currently working with Reconciliation Outreach on creating a safe house for homeless college students, to be completed by Spring
2018.
