For older first-generation and retired Latinos, it can be hard to find social groups where they can interact with folks who speak Spanish. Our Club de la Tercera Edad was founded decades ago with these individuals in mind. Every Friday morning, seniors gather at the LAA to engage in a variety of fun activities: arts and crafts; zumba and yoga classes; field trips to places such as the Atlanta Botanical Garden and the YMCA; holiday lunches and monthly birthday celebrations. On a recent Friday morning, participants listened to a nutrition talk offered by University of Georgia Hispanic outreach coordinator Edda Cotto-Rivera and then played bingo.

This group is run by  volunteers.IMG_4596
