The 3rd annual Latina Empowerment Conference is a one-of-a-kind experience drawing over a 1,000 attendees from across metro Atlanta and surrounding areas for an experience designed to inspire, empower and equip attendees with the tools they need to become a change agent in their own lives, their households and their communities. Motivational speakers and workshops lead by Latina thought leaders, trailblazers and professionals provide insight and offer poignant, relevant and impactful discussion on prominent topics affecting Latinas. In addition, the conference will offer a a job fair and Expo that will feature more than 100 exhibitors providing services and resources to empower Latinas to achieve their dreams.

The conference will take place on Saturday, March 31, 2018 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Infinite Energy Center in Gwinnett.

Glenda Umaña is one of the most recognized and respected Latin American journalists. With 26 years of experience on-air, a life dedicated passionately to television journalism, 18 of them on the CNN en Español network, they consecrated her as the female leader of international communication and favorite journalist of the Spanish-speaking communities in the United  States and Latin America.

In 2015, Glenda created Glenda Umaña Communications (GUC), a company whose objective is to help boost the level of journalistic professionalism in Latin America and bring information of real relevance to different audiences. Sasha’s Mexican-Swiss background has led her to a varied and international career in entertainment, which includes hosting, reporting, acting and dancing. Fluent in Spanish and English and conversational in French and German, the diversity of her projects and interests has taken her throughout the US, Latin America, Europe and Australia.

Sasha has hosted and anchored multiple variety and news programs including “The Music Room” for CNN International, “Nuestro Rincón” for WKRC-TV and “Details with Sasha” for CNN Español. Her most recent projects include a special “Stay, Eat, Play” Louisiana program for FLN, and she has used her experience as a young mom to drive “Atlanta Mom” ​​segment capsules.

We are looking for speakers to inspire and empower Latinas on a variety of topics. The selection of topics to be discussed at the conference were based on surveys, topics that were well received at the previous conference, timeliness and relevance. Presentations are required to be in Spanish and should last no more than 50 minutes. Requests for Proposals (RFP) submission deadline is February 20, 2018.

Q: What is the cost to attend the conference?
A: Admission is free but registration is required. Breakfast and lunch will be provided at no cost.

Q: Where is the conference going to be held? Where do I get directions?
A: Infinite Energy Center at 6400 Sugarloaf Pkwy, Duluth GA 30097 (Click here for directions)

Q: Is there available parking space?
A: Yes, plenty of parking is available on site and it is free.

Q: Will there be transportation options, such as buses?
A: No. You will be responsible for your own transportation. You are encouraged to carpool with friends or family. Uber or Lyft are also options.

Q: Can I bring food?
A: No, the Infinite Energy Center does not allow food to be brought from outside. The Latin American Association will provide free breakfast and lunch. Vending machines are also available.

Q. Do I need to bring anything with me?
You do not need to bring anything! We will provide bags, notebooks and pens.

Q: Can I bring my children?
A: We want this day to be special for you. Children will be a distraction, and we cannot accommodate them.

Q: Can I bring my daughter?
A: If she is at least 18 years old, she is welcome to come. Just make sure you register her before the conference.

Q: Can men attend this conference?
A: As much as we love our men, we would prefer to have a space only for women.

Q: I have a commitment the same day of the conference, but I really want to go. Can I come late?
A: You will get the most of this experience if you arrive on time and stay for the entire conference. However, we will welcome you before noon if you cannot get there when it opens.
