The Latin American Association raised a record $485,000 at its 28th Annual Latin Fever Ball, which was held on October 1, 2016 at the InterContinental Buckhead. This year’s revenues beat last year’s record by $50,000. Nearly 700 guests were in attendance, the highest in the gala’s 28-year-history.
This year’s Latin Fever Ball celebrated “Puerto Rico, la isla del encanto.” Gala chairs were Rey and Genie Pascual. The chair of the Latin Fever Ball Guild was Patty Webb.
“On behalf of our Latino community, I am so grateful to UPS and all our sponsors, the Latin Fever Ball chairs, the Guild, staff and volunteers for the most successful Latin Fever Ball to date,” said Aníbal Torres, the LAA’s executive director. “These funds will go a long way to empower our community to adapt, integrate and thrive.”
The gala featured a three-course dinner inspired in the cuisine of Puerto Rico, a signature piña colada cocktail, La Hora Loca, a Delta Air Lines photo booth with backdrops of Old San Juan, live and silent auctions, open bar, dancing with Orquesta Nova Sound and more. For many, Latin Fever Ball is the best party in town.
All proceeds from Latin Fever Ball will fund LAA services and programs serving the Latino community, including English classes, youth programs in various metro Atlanta middle schools and high schools, immigration legal services, an economic empowerment program for Latina immigrants, workforce development initiatives and much more.
The 2017 Latin Fever Ball will take place on Saturday, October 14, 2017 and will celebrate Carnaval!
