LAA to honor Andrew Young at Compañeros Awards Luncheon April 16

The Latin American Association (LAA) presents its 26th Annual Compañeros Awards Luncheon, an annual fundraiser where the LAA recognizes community leaders and shares inspirational stories that bring to life its work in the Latino community.

WHO:

The Honorable Andrew Young will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award for Outstanding Public Service and Leadership. Other awardees are: Elizabeth Alemán, the mother of a student participating in the LAA’s youth program who has emerged as a leader in her children’s schools (Community Leadership and Service Award) and Delta Air Lines (Exemplary Corporate Leadership Award).

Samuel Betances, Ed.D., one of the country’s leading motivational speakers, will be the keynote speaker.

Carlos Calderón, of Univision’s “El Gordo y la Flaca,” will serve as master of ceremonies.

WHEN:

Thursday, April 16, 2015. Reception starts at 11 a.m.; luncheon starts at 12 p.m.
